About me
Dr. Lowry is in his fourth year as Homewood City School’s Director of Personnel and Academic Services. Prior to being in the central office, Dr. Lowry served eight years as principal at Shades Cahaba Elementary in Homewood, Alabama, a three-time National School of Character and a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. His professional experiences include administrative positions at the primary and elementary levels and teaching third grade. Dr. Lowry is also an adjunct professor in the master’s program in Educational Leadership at Samford University and is currently a Hope Fellow. He is an alumnus of Samford University, the University of Montevallo, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Lowry has presented at many conferences on character education, technology, facility dogs, and standards-based grading topics.
